Lecture Series: Jane Austen's Sensibilities

Though Jane Austen lived and wrote before the Victorian Period, her work became popular with Victorians as it reflected some of the puritanical and moralistic qualities of Victorian literature. Jane Austen’s love story was realistic as opposed to idealistic or “die for each other” romantic.

In this lecture we hear from Professor Pam Perkins where we will discuss Sense and Sensibility and all things Austen.

The lectures take place in our Visitors' Centre. Each session begins at 1:30 pm and runs for about an hour.
