Free visitor parking is available in our parking lot located to the north of the Visitors' Centre. From Monday to Friday during business hours, only the stalls marked “Visitor” are available.

ACCESSIBILITY

Due to its historic nature, the second and third floors of the Museum are not wheelchair accessible.

Guests with mobility concerns have the option of exploring the Visitors' Centre and first floor of the house which has a ramp into the heritage part of the house via the gift shop. The Virtual Tour of the house will be available via tablet.

Dalnavert Museum was built in 1895 on Treaty 1 territory. These lands and waterways were stewarded by and are the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Anisininew, Dene, Dakota Peoples, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We acknowledge and remember the wrongs that were and are done to the Indigenous peoples of this land through colonization and the systems built to perpetuate colonial attitudes and racism against Indigenous peoples.

As a museum, we seek to use the house as a tool to educate about the time period and to give space to all the perspectives and stories that the time period houses. Dalnavert houses antiques, not antiquated beliefs!
