Join us on August 23rd for a guided workshop on the art of flower pressing, a historic technique used in the preservation of flowers and other botanicals.
In this workshop, learn about the history of flower pressing up to the present day, as well as the practical application of preparing and pressing plants. Learn the ins and outs of what flowers press best, when and how to collect them for best results, and practice using your press with flowers harvested from the historic gardens around Dalnavert.
Tickets do not include a press for your flowers. A press is required for this workshop, participants are expected to either provide their own or purchase them with their ticket. You will be able to take your press home after the event!
Please note this workshop will not include any instruction on how to use the flowers once they are pressed, and is focused instead on the art of pressing.
Tickets are $37 for general admission, $30 for members.
This workshop requires a flower press. Participants are welcome to bring their own or purchase a press with your ticket for an additional $20.
This event takes place in the Visitors' Centre, which is wheelchair accessible. Part of this workshop will including picking flowers in the garden. Those in wheelchairs may be limited to garden paths depending on terrain and weather. Flowers from the garden will be picked for you if requested.
