Before Dracula, there was Carmilla. 

Join us in the parlour for a candlelit reading of an abridged version of Carmilla, Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu’s haunting 1872 tale of a lonely young woman, a secluded castle, and a beautiful stranger whose arrival brings with it a series of unsettling events. 

Experience this classic gothic tale as it was meant to be heard: by candlelight, surrounded by the atmosphere of a Victorian home. 

Before the reading begins guests will enjoy the opportunity to explore the house after dark. During intermission enjoy a specialty themed cocktail/mocktail along with a selection of charcuterie.

Recommended for ages 18+

$50 general, $45 for museum members.

Ticket price includes one cocktail or mocktail.

Doors open at 6:30pm.

Accessibility

The reading takes place in the parlour, which is accessible to most wheelchairs. Self-guided exploration of the upper floors of the historic house is only possible via stairs.
