Every year on National Canadian Film Day (CanFilmDay), there are screenings of Canadian films across the country. This year is CanFilmDay’s 10th anniversary. To celebrate, on April 19th, come watch All My Puny Sorrows (2021) at Dalnavert. Based on the 2014 international best-selling novel by Miriam Toews, All My Puny Sorrows is the poignant story of two sisters, Elfrieda, a concert pianist obsessed with ending her life, and Yolandi, a writer who wants her sister to live.
This film addresses difficult themes including suicide, death and mental illness. It contains strong language and sexually suggestive scenes. Viewer discretion is advised.
Tickets are free. To help us gauge how many people are attending, we encourage you to RSVP online here.
Anyone with a pre-reserved ticket is guaranteed entrance to our free screening. We may still be able to admit walk-ups in the event that someone who has pre-booked does not show up. Those without pre-booked tickets will be asked to wait until shortly before 7:00 to see if any of the reserved spots go unclaimed.
