The Man Behind the Carol with Ron Robinson
Dickens’ career started as a journalist where he published a series of sketches under the pseudonym Boz. He began to grow more popular when he published The PickWick Papers in 1836-37. 14 novels were produced after this, many of which brought attention to social ills of England at the time. A Christmas Carol was partly responsible for how we celebrate Christmas today, creating the first narrative for snowy, white scenery we all picture the ideal Christmas to be. This story starred Ebenezer Scrooge, a character thought to represent the tumultuous relationship Dickens had with his father.
